Thoughtful design with care.
From first call to launch
“Good design is actually a lot harder to notice than poor design, in part because good designs fit our needs so well that the design is invisible.” Donald A. Norman

You'll hear from me
If you enquire about package design or motion design, I usually reply same day. You'll get a follow-up with a request for information, we can jump on a call, then a quote and I start the work if accepted.
If you enquire about a website build or systems integration, I'll send you a project questionnaire to get an overview of your project goals, challenges and target audience.
-
Video call
I'll let you know a perceived complexity of your project and a rough scope number. We'll schedule a call to discuss details if you are keen to proceed.
We'll discuss the project requirements in more detail that I’ll use to write a proposal with the scope itemised.
-
Project scope & proposal
At this stage I'd send you a detailed project scope and a project proposal to sign. Take your time to review the inclusions, estimated launch date and the terms of the project delivery.
We'll kick off once the formalities are settled.
How is my project billed?
Your proposal sets out the price, what’s in and what’s out, and when each part is delivered. You know the number before we start.
A$1,400 a day
Day rate, ex GST. Small additions are A$175 an hour, always agreed with you first.- 40%To book your start date
- 70%When you approve the design
- 100%At launch
- What’s included
- Every proposal lists what’s included, what isn’t, and how many rounds of feedback you get.
- Sprint week
- Five focused days on one problem, ending in a tested prototype.
- Not in the price
- Hosting, domains, licences and paid assets, billed at cost.
- Changes
- Anything new is quoted before I start it, never after.
- Ongoing work
- After launch, a Care & design subscription starts at one day a month for updates and design on your existing work. Extra time is A$175 an hour. All prices are AUD, ex GST.
How do I keep track of the project progress?
I deliver every project through my own client portal, built for a process-driven way of working. You see the whole project there, not a status report.
- Project tasks
- All of the project tasks, in one shared space.
- Delivery deadlines
- The deadline for each delivery, visible from day one.
- Scope per task
- What each task covers, matched to the proposal.
- Progress as it happens
- Each task moves from planned to done as I work, and you see it in your portal.
- Files, notes & documents
- Kept within the project space, next to the work they belong to.
- Feedback in comments
- Feedback communication via the task comments. I get notified for each one.
How do we keep in touch?
You can reach out to me via email or use the comments in your client portal. For Zoom or Meet video calls we usually communicate around the scheduled delivery milestones:
- Project kick-off
- Draft handover
- Feedback
- Launch
I do not communicate via phone or messengers. Project management and calls are part of the project. If we need much more of them than the scope allows, I’ll tell you before it costs anything.
Frequently asked questions
How many project revisions I can have? +
Every proposal includes set rounds of feedback for each stage, usually two. The scope lists what’s in and what’s out, so you know what the price covers.
More rounds, or changes beyond the scope, are quoted before I start them, never after.
Do I need to register any accounts or buy a domain? +
I can register all of the service accounts on your behalf and transfer the ownership upon the project launch. This is usually the quickest option so that I'm not blocked with the access. But we can go with any option that you prefer; the only difference is the time that goes into coordination.
If you already have a registered domain, I will need access to your account to configure the DNS setting when launching the site. If you don't have a domain, I can work with you to have it sorted.
