What happens next?

From your brief to the first day of work, in three steps.

  1. I reply within a day

I read every brief myself. For package or motion design I usually reply the same day. For a website, platform or integration, I may first send a few questions about your goals and audience.

  2. We talk it through

I tell you how complex the project looks and give you a rough number. If you'd like to go ahead, we book a video call to cover what I need for an itemised estimate.

  3. You get a scope and proposal

A detailed scope with what's included, the launch date and the terms. Take your time with it. A 40% deposit books your start date, and then I begin.

Frequently asked questions

Something else on your mind? Add it to your brief as a note.

How is my project billed?

Your proposal sets the price and what it includes. You pay 40% to book your start date, 30% when you approve the design and 30% at launch. Small additions are A$175 an hour, agreed with you first, and my day rate is A$1,400. All prices are in AUD, ex GST.

Hosting, domains and licences are billed at cost.

How many revisions can I have?

Every proposal includes set rounds of feedback for each stage, usually two. The scope lists what's in and what's out, so you know what the price covers.

More rounds, or changes beyond the scope, are quoted before I start them, never after.

Do I need to register accounts or buy a domain?

I can register the service accounts for you and hand over ownership at launch. It's usually the quickest way, because I'm never waiting on access. If you'd like to own them from day one, that works too. It only takes a little more coordination.

If you already have a domain, I'll need access to its DNS at launch. If you don't, I'll help you get one.

How do I follow the project's progress?

I deliver every project through my own client portal and invite you to it. You see each stage, its tasks and deadlines, and you watch the work move from planned to done.

Files, notes and documents live there too, and feedback goes in the task comments.

How do we keep in touch during the project?

By email, or with a comment in your client portal: I get notified. We meet on Zoom or Meet at the milestones, like the kick-off, the design handover, feedback and launch. I don't work over the phone or messengers.

Project management and calls are part of the project. If we need many more than the scope allows, I'll tell you before it costs anything.
